Primary Purpose: Marketing Coordinator will be a trusted partner in building Formations brand that engages customers, establishes our audiences, and increases sales. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for designing, creating, and delivering marketing programs to support the growth trajectory and expansion of Formations products and employer value proposition. The Marketing Coordinator will be working alongside Formations leadership team to support the marketing strategy and initiatives, including print advertising, promotional products, sponsorships, trade shows, competitor research, events, website maintenance and social media management for multiple channels. The Marketing Coordinator will create and convey brand messages and improve brand awareness to make memorable impressions including what our audience can expect from Formations and what distinguishes ourselves as the best choice for non-structural wood products and accessories and cabinet doors to the woodworking community as well as an employer of choice.

Essential Functions (fundamental job duties):

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the company’s brand strategy.
  • Audit and pull analytics to determine what programs to implement and use tactics to increase product demand, generating sales leads, attract traffic to the company website, and promote an online presence.
  • Monitor and acknowledge online customers/employee reviews on (google, indeed, glass door) and solicit feedback to recruit new customers/employees and retain existing ones.
  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation.
  • Traffic all advertising efforts to appropriate channels including LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook to name a few.
  • Liaise with vendor partners marketing departments on a “co-branding” strategy.
  • Create, maintain, and strengthen the organization’s overall brand through all media avenues to get noticed and chosen.
  • Overseeing swag management for purchasing, storing and distributing promotional merchandise that are given to leads, customers, and employees.
  • Ensures that layout and design efforts are aligned with brand and production standards and follow best practices.
  • Maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders/partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Plan and manage meetings, events, conferences, and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements.
  • Conduct research to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape, and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the marketing department.
  • Maintain Formations industry leading website using WordPress. Ensure customer functionality.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Provide marketing support throughout the organization and additional assigned work by President and leadership team.

Job Effort and Working Conditions:

  • This position is based at corporate office in Edmonton, AB (Downtown).
  • Occasional travel to various branch offices in AB, SK, BC and MB and external resources based on business needs.

Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, advertising, or communications preferred.
  • Past work experience as a marketing coordinator or similar role for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret competitor strategies and consumer behavior.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially with Excel and PowerPoint
